Hairstyles for Curly Hair

Curly hair requires special maintenance.  Whether you want your hair to look luscious and wavy or poker straight, there are treatments to help. Girls with curly hair may find they have problems with dry hair, frizzy hair, wild and unmanageable hair, or thick coarse hair that needs to look healthy.

What style will work with curly hair?

Robert recommends find a stylist who knows how to cut for curly hair that suits your face shape, bone structure, body type and personal style. All of our Metropolis stylists are trained to cut your curly hair in a style that will suit your face shape and be easy to do at home. Your stylist will also recommend the right hair regimen to keep your curly hair in top condition.

How can I dry my hair so it stays curly?

You may also have questions about the best products to use, styling curly hair, how weather affects your hair including humidity, cold, wind, or summer heat.  If you want curly hair, you may wonder how can I dry my hair so it stays curly like Taylor Swift or Sarah Jessica Parker?  Your Metropolis stylist can show you techniques to make the most of your curly hair.  Robert recommends using the right product for your hair – shampoo, treatment, conditioner and styling products are key to minimize frizz.  The objective of curly hair is to have a nice, well defined curl.

How can I get rid of frizzy hair?

If you want straight, glossy hair, regular salon blow outs will help keep the hair in good condition. We also feature special in-salon treatments that will make your curly hair healthier and eliminate frizz. Your stylist will teach you how to replicate the look at home and show you which products from L’Oreal, Kerastase, Revlon Professional or Style Masters are best for your curly hair so you can have ‘salon looking’ hair every day.

Robert’s three steps for perfectly defined, curly hair:

  1. Style Master cream for curly hair, apply to lightly towel dryed, detangled hair and massage it in to bring back the curl.
  2. Use a diffuser to dry the hair
  3. Don’t touch your hair after it’s dry to keep a nice curl and avoid frizz

Robert’s three steps to straighten your curly hair:

  1. Towel dry, detangle and then apply Style Master straightener and smoother
  2. Use a paddle brush and a hair dryer to make it straight
  3. To make it silky straight, finish with a straightening iron from ghd and add gloss  and healthy looking hair with Orofluido
